Like any little girl, Christina Carathanassis loved to dress up. But for Christina, this childhood stage grew into a full-blown fashion obsession that has shaped her entire life. Her mother Rosemarie (Mammabelle) explains, “When Christina was five years old, she gave me advice ... and I actually listened to it! She just has this amazing sense of what looks good.” Naturally, in high school and college, Christina’s closet was often raided by her friends and family. Christina always knew that her closet had a special draw; it always held the right clothes and Christina proudly wore the label of the “go-to-girl” for fashion advice.

Living so close to the fashion Mecca of Manhattan, in Bergen County, New Jersey, a career in beauty and fashion was a natural choice. After college, Christina spent ten years as a Manhattan- based publicist working for high-end clients in the beauty and fashion industries. It was there she was entrenched in red carpet, star-studded fashion events such as The Emmy Awards and New York’s Fashion Week. In the midst of all the celebrity-driven, fashion hype and glamour, Christina knew she too had a special talent for fashion. Just two years ago, she decided she had been sitting on the sidelines of the fashion world long enough. In 2004, Christina’s brainchild Christabelle’s Closet Designer Re-sale Boutique opened up in the virtual world for every woman and man with a passion for fashion to explore.

This time, Christabelle’s (Christina’s childhood nickname) Closet opened its online doors bursting with designer treasures and designer duds, culled from Manhattan socialites, LA’s famous faces and high-powered fashion and beauty executives. This Closet was designed to hold only the cream-of-the-crop designer bargains - to be sold on consignment -- in the most pristine condition. The authentic designer goods are gathered from the country’s fashion elite (otherwise known as fashionistas). In Christina’s words, the Closet is “From fashionistas. For fashionistas. By fashionistas.” Top designers labels including Prada, Gucci, Chanel, Christian Dior and Hermes come and go quickly at Christabelle’s Closet. “Real fashionistas strike while the iron is hot,” states Christina. “Every week there is something new coming in and so many amazing pieces leaving that are destined for happy new closets!” Even the packaging at Christabelle’s Closet is special as each authentic designer piece is delivered in the Christabelle’s signature pink tissue paper along with an elegant scented sachet perfect for tucking in a drawer or closet.
