Cocktail of the Week: The Alaskan Pine with Leaf Vodka
Master Mixologist Juyoung Kang has devised one of this year’s coolest winter cocktails. Dubbed the Alaskan Pine, it’s made with LEAF® Vodka and is uniquely floral and herbaceous. “Aromas of lavender and sage, with the sweetness of vanilla, bring about a feeling of a warm hug,” notes Kang. “The clean taste of the Alaskan glacial water used to make LEAF Vodka adds a refreshing quality that makes this cocktail perfect for entertaining during winter celebrations,” she added.
Ingredients:
1.5 oz LEAF Vodka Made from Alaskan Glacial Water
1oz Lemon juice
1oz Vanilla syrup
1 sprig of fresh Rosemary
1 sprig of fresh Sage
1 dash of Lavender bitters
Tools: Mixing shaker tins, jigger, strainer, muddler.
Put in mixing tin Rosemary and Sage and bruise with muddler (just press it down so the oils of the herbs are expressed). Add rest of the ingredients, add ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a coupe glass, garnish and serve.
