By now you all know my love of the theater and arts, so when I heard that a dear friend of the family had committed herself to raising money for Stamford, CT’s NFP Curtain Call, by Bachata-ing her way to the winning spot with Lou Lopez – I knew it was up to me to help her WIN WIN WIN!
Nobody puts JoAnn in the corner…
Curtain Call is Stamford’s longest-running, and only nonprofit producing theatre company. With year-round performances in The Kweskin Theatre and The Dressing Room Theatre – conveniently located at Sterling Farms in the heart of Stamford, CT – they also produce an annual free outdoor Shakespeare production. With at least 12 full-scale productions each year, plus many other special events (Interactive Murder Mysteries, Comedy Nights, Concerts, etc.) they beautifully entertain more than 25k patrons per year. Additionally, they offer a full curriculum of performing arts programming for ages five through adult (which I intend on taking this summer – join me for a dinner apres class at Giovanni’s The Water’s Edge with JoAnn – she can sign an autograph for you…on the house).
Curtain Call’s Dancing With The Stars is the only annual special event fundraiser to help underwrite the myriad costs for their operations. Contributions from individuals, corporations, foundations and more are needed to keep the organization fiscally sound. Now it is your chance to get involved (and help Joann – did I mention VOTE FOR HER! It will be the best $10 you have ever spent).
Get involved with Curtain Call and learn why for eight years running, they have been named Fairfield County’s Best Local Theatre group. Also, in a state-wide FaceBook poll administered by the CT Tourism Board in August 2012, Curtain Call was the State’s Favorite Theatre Site. In 2011 Curtain Call received the prestigious GOVERNOR’S AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN CULTURE AND TOURISM.
Curtain Call, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and your contribution toward this event may qualify as a charitable deduction for federal income tax purposes. Your individual receipt (to be sent after the event) will specify how much qualifies as a charitable deduction.
