Memorial Day weekend is the first official marker that we have finally made it through NYC's brutal winter and are well on our way to fun in the sun. But before we get to all the BBQs and rooftop festivities us ladies need to make sure our locks are in tip top shape. From you curly girls to you color addicts, we put together a list of our favorite shampoos that will have you photo ready for the endless stream of Insta-shoots that seem to come standard with every holiday weekend.
Thanksgiving is just a little over a week away and you are probably starting to think about food shopping, cooking, and decorating your table (or eating if you aren't in charge of any of those things). Though I will be with my DNA family for the holidays, I celebrated the big day with my "NYC Family" last week. If you think you don't have enough room in your apartment to host such a gala - think again. With some creative placement of furniture (I used my couch as dining seats on one side) and a few fold out tables, I fit 12 people in my New York City 1 bedroom apartment. Yes, you can do that too.As you scramble to prep...here are some of the cute ideas you can steal from my Thanksgiving Dinner Table.
With Fashion Week in full swing, I have been flooded with how I am surviving (it is Saturday night at 11:48 pm - does that answer your question - I am working!). But thankfully, my beauty stash is helping to keep me bright eyed and bushy tailed, as I live the life of a crazy little lifestyle blogger - during New York Fashion Week.I present you with with a peek into my fashion week beauty arsenal:
Who says that beer must be the only drink served on St. Patrick's Day? Those who are looking to celebrate the Irish festivities with a sophisticated twist...Guinness plus Tequila = one happy leprechaun! On March 17th, dip your Irish self into a pot of gold called the "Black Opal".
Did you know vodka is the most consumed liquor in the United States? I did, because it is all being consumed by my circle of friends. Joking, of course (or am I?)...now critically acclaimed cocktail guru Tony Abou-Ganim (Author of Vodka Distilled: The Modern Mixologist on Vodka and Vodka Cocktails - and soon to be my new BFF) has turned our attention towards renewing our appreciation for this oft-maligned spirit.
Oh the weather outside is frightful...but inside it is sinfully sexy tonight. Open the curtains and watch the blizzard barrel down upon us while sipping this divinely chic and oh, so yum-yum cocktail. NYFW might be "postponed" with the snow, but you can still be fashionably fierce and foxy when you get THIS martini ON thanks to Flawless NYC - Foxy Night Blackberry Martini.
With Valentine's Day just a few short weeks, I thought it best to share my obsession (and awesome gift pick for CC) this week. Her work is uber fierce (as is the girl behind the brand). Kristen Farrell's designs continue to rock the editorial pages of the highest profile publications and are continually seen on the necks, hands and wrists of the "who's who" list. From a post I wrote in 2009 - clearly, I am still a HUGE fan of Ms. Farrell's work...
Fresh out of New Zealand is Broken Shed Vodka, which first traveled to the US in June of 2012 and is one of the few vodkas on the market that is additive free, making it extremely pure (just like me...I hear you snickering peanut gallery). Bottoms up...!
If you have ever been to my house for dinner, you might have experienced my famous Roasted Rosemary Potatoes with a little fabulous sprinkled on top. The sensual smell of Rosemary in home warms the soul and kind of makes me a little frisky (perhaps 2013's newest aphrodisiac?).I never thought to add Rosemary to a cocktail so I am thankful to our friends at SheKnows.com for this amazing cocktail recipe!
