Breaking: Target Announces Collaboration With Celebrity Stylist Kate Young
Well, this is a twist. While we’ve all been distracted by Target‘s collection with Prabal Gurung – which launches February 10 – the retail giant has gone and pulled a fast one on us, announcing its next collaboration: a line of semi-formal and special-occasion dresses with celebrity stylist Kate Young. It was an unexpected move for Target, as most of the retailer’s partnerships of late have been strictly with big-name designers.
Young – whose clients include Natalie Portman and Michelle Williams – is no stranger to Target. She previously worked with the brand to style the Jason Wu for Target look book, which she says taught her “a lot about design and how dresses are made.” Her own collection will include apparel ranging in price from $29.99 to $89.99, and jewelry, handbags and shoes from $14.99 to $49.99.
Target said about the line:
Kate is a nontraditional partner for us… This is the first time we’ve worked with a stylist. It’s interesting with someone that may not have formal training. It’s the first time a limited-time collection has been so focused. We always wanted to do a line of semiformal and special occasion dresses. Here’s someone that creates jaw-dropping moments.
Kate Young for Target launches April 14. We will continue to keep you looped in as more info is released.
