Vyayama Launches in NYC
Vyayama, a new lifestyle brand that draws its inspiration and innovation from the natural world to create a collection of apparel and accessories that are made for movement, celebrated their launch in New York City this week.
The sanskrit word to move, Vyayama (Pronounced “vai-ah-mah”) was founded with the intention of providing an alternative to synthetic yoga wear, and with the belief that the products we use should be held to the same standards that we hold for ourselves. Balancing style and sustainability, the launch collection comprises apparel that is made to furnish an active, creative and spirited lifestyle. In the future, mens apparel, curios and home accessories will be added to the mix.Heavily focused on botanically-sourced fabrics, the brand has innovated a custom Tencel—Kalablak™—the ‘blackest-black’ matte, high performance fabric that is gentle to skin and nontoxic. The collection comprises 11 mix-and-match pieces: Kalablak™ is offered in five styles—a legging, short, tank, crop top and bralette. Custom textural shadow prints are featured on soft-touch Tencel and seen on a legging, short, tank and crop top. These foundational pieces are accented with two layering styles: a black seamless cashmere/modal-blend long sleeved T-shirt and a black seamless Italian-spun cashmere sweater. Prices range from $85 for a Kalablak™ bralette, to $185 for Shadow Print leggings and $350 for the Italian-spun Cashmere sweater.
Founder, Rachel Bauer says: “I wanted to be able to build a successful business that did not compromise on quality or my commitment to the natural world and that treated its team and production partners fairly”.
