Wellness Event in Brooklyn – June 14th…

As promised here are more details regarding our fabulous Wellness event, taking place this Saturday 14th. We are all very excited about this as we have a
lot going on, there is activity all day so come along with lots of time to spare!

I have to say the idea for this event first came about with the introduction of a brand called Pursoma to Shen, which are detox treatment baths and a new venture for us. We have had extraordinary results with Michelle Roques O’Neil’s Therapie Detox Bath Salts with a huge fan base delighted with their amazing soothing and de-stressing ingredients, and something that truly knocks you out to sleep if you have before bed time. Shannon Vaughn, co-creator of Pursoma, came in to Shen and she explained to me how her bath rituals sold very well in juice bars because of people detoxing and the treatments are a perfect add on.

In the Pursoma range there are six products; four of which are the bathing rituals and then one nasal rinse and one body mask. I went straight to the Ocean Potion Bath, loved the name of course. Travelling back and forth to the UK constantly, Shannon told me this would be great remedy for jet lag, I’m in! With it’s mix of French grey sea salt, seaweed and algae this is also great to deal fatigue and giving a kick to your lymphatic system. Shannon told me to take a hot bath, soak for 10 to 15 mins and then once out of the bath to lie on the bed on my towel and relax. Relaxing it was but also I found myself dripping, clearing those toxins were draining out of me and to my delight I felt I rid a lot of water retention. Yippee this could be my go to summer weight loss diet!  The other treatment Shannon recommended to me was the Resurrection Bath, this also contained French green clay and was to target restoring hydration and help win back energy.

I am constantly tired so this was my kind of bath to unburden the day’s stresses and strains.  Admittedly the clay does make a little more mess in the bath than your usual bubble bath, but the feeling you have when you come out is as if you have been in the spa or had a massage, and all this in the comfort of your own home.  The Digital Detox is apparently one of the best sellers from the range, and so far proved a big hit by the men browsing with their wives and girlfriends at the weekend in Shen.  Once you tell them this is to aid environmental detoxification from mobile phones, computers and tablets they are off to the check out.  Not only that it helps with circulation and to relieve stiff joints, all that hunching over phones is a tremendous ache over time.  So if you need any ideas for Father’s Day then here’s your answer!

Anyway, onto to Saturday’s event, you are going to love it.  I have persuaded the fabulous Green Pirate juicing company to come on board, especially as they are Brooklyn based.  They are going to do a little pop up at Shen and will be serving juices from 11am until sold out, and trust me these juices will sell quickly.  With The Hot Pink Limeade with beet, lime, cucumber and apple and Walk The Plank with kale, spinach, cucumber and pineapple you are going to love the fact Shen is on your Saturday shopping list.  Thank you so much Green Pirate for sparing us the time and effort to be part of our event, we are so happy, and do check out their website for their fabulous Cleanse Packages.

A team from organic make up brand, Kjaer Weis, will be there to show and explain the benefits of organic on your face, we are officially launching Pai skin care, certified organic and from England.  Pai have very kindly given us a number of gift sets to anyone buying one of their fabulous BioRegenerate Oil, an incredible multi-tasker and fabulous to heal skin be it scars, sun damage and fine lines.  I came across Sarah Brown, founder of Pai, about 8 years ago as we sipped cappuccinos in a cafe in London.  I wrote about her brand in my column at the time for the Daily Mail, and so delighted to see that she has expanded the line and has some incredible products that are all certified organic, quite rare in the market.  Pai is suitable for sensitive skins, young and combination and has some wonderful anti-ageing products to help the more mature customer.  Please come and check them out and we can give you a sample to try on Saturday.

We are very excited about meeting author Jolene Hart, writer of Eating Pretty.  We all need to learn a thing or two from Jolene as she has successfully turned her problematic skin around all by changing her diet and eating the right foods for her skin.  Just shows we are what we eat and I think Jolene will be absolutely fascinating.  I know I have a long list of questions I want to ask her and have already reserved two of her books which will be on sale over the weekend.
