You’ve ridden the roller coaster, you’ve seen the shows, you’ve gambled all you care to gamble, you’ve even golfed for Pete’s sake, and if you have one more elaborate dinner you’ll need new pants- if you think you’ve done everything in Las Vegas you might be right- except for this:  Entrepreneur Mahesh Patel bought the most expensive Scotch whisky in history, paying $160,000 for the “Dalmore 64 Trinitas” back in October 2010.  He owns more than 1,000 bottles, and the Dalmore Trinitas is now the crowning jewel of his collection, which is valued at around $2.5 million!  After amassing a collection such as this, an entrepreneur must now ask himself, “What now?”  Now Mahesh is producing “The Universal Whisky Experience,” a weekend-long tasting showcase which will debut in Las Vegas on March 18th and 19th.
This show is the first of its kind!  The two-day show will bring together the best whisky master blenders and distillers along with the rarest of expressions for an intimate weekend focusing on tasting, pairing, cocktails and meeting today’s whisky legends. There will be Master Classes and events including Whisky and cigar pairing, Whisky and chocolate pairing, and Whisky Mixology.  “The purpose of this weekend is to gather the country’s most passionate whisky lovers for tasting experiences they would not normally have access to,” says Patel.  “Our guests will be wowed by the Nth show from the minute they check into their suites at Encore at Wynn Las Vegas, the newest all luxury suite property by Wynn.  From VIP receptions to meeting with Master Mixologist Patricia Richards to taste a new twist on whisky cocktails, to indulging in chocolates made to pair with whiskies, the experience will be unparalleled.”
Mahesh can discuss whisky, the record-breaking bottle, and his collection.  He can also discuss the Las Vegas show and talk about how to invest in Scotch whisky, specifically how someone could start their own collection – how to appraise bottles, which brands and bottles to look for, where to find them, what kind of strategy works best, etc.  He can also talk about the volatility and give an outlook.
Recognizing that Aficionados might want to create a luxury weekend experience around the event, but not all couples enjoy whisky equally, Patel has created a special companion ticket whereby a couple share the weekend and the person who is not as interested in the tasting can still enjoy much of what the weekend offers.
